WhatsApp Launches New Endangered Messages Option

WhatsApp introduces a new option of disappearing messages this month. The feature will allow WhatsApp users to enable disappearance of messages on chat conversations between friends, automatically delete messages after seven days. Anyone can enable the option in individual chats, and group admins will be able to enable the disappearance of messages in group chats.

“We’re starting with 7 days because we believe it provides peace of mind that conversations aren’t always-on, while still being convenient so you don’t forget what you’re talking about,” says a spokesperson for WhatsApp. . “The shopping list or store address you received a few days ago will be there while you need it, then disappear after you no longer have it.”

Messages that disappear will also erase photos and videos after seven days, and although the messages disappear for both parties, it is still possible to take screenshots or just copy the messages before they are automatically deleted.

You will have to activate the disappearance of messages by group or by contact. Once the feature is fully rolled out, it will be available as a new option in the contact section of every friend in WhatsApp. The setting will not erase old messages and will only affect new messages when enabled by either party. WhatsApp says it will start broadcasting endangered messages to all users this month.
