A suggestive residence in Beverly Hills Apartments neighborhood recently sold for approximately $ 32.3 million, one of the most expensive transactions ever recorded in that perennially desirable pocket of 90210. Located on a particularly prestigious street lined with stately homes, the expensive property borders the notoriously stowaway Los Angeles Country Club and was designed by Nile Niami, arguably the most famous and prolific developer of large Los Angeles villas.

Originally built in 1950, Niami expanded and radically renovated the estate in 2013, culminating in the result posted in gallery images: the property’s current stately home is perhaps more accurately described as a neoclassical French villa with a trendy contemporary twist.

In April 2015, the house was sold for $ 28 million to businessman Gyorgy Gattyan, one of Hungary’s richest men and founder of the adult entertainment / webcam website LiveJasmin. Gattyan, who possesses many other properties in the area, he held the property for only four years before turning it over with a profit of more than $ 4 million before taxes, maintenance and hefty real estate agent expenses.

The buyer, the records reveal, is socialite Persia Vlessing Dime, a Toronto-based fashionista and a regular visitor to charity galas and fashion shows around the world. Dime’s longtime husband, a Canadian industrialist Charles Dime, is one of the founders of Toronto Research Chemicals (TRC), a leading manufacturer of synthetic biochemicals for the pharmaceutical industry. Three months ago, TRC was acquired by a subsidiary of investment giant KKR for an undeclared sum.

Dime’s billionaire-worthy new estate is partially protected from the road by rows of mature olive trees and a front hedge. Behind the double gates, a huge auto field has room for a couple of dozen vehicles, plus there’s a so-called car gallery – essentially a luxury garage – and plenty of convenient street parking for large events.

The white-walled, black-roofed manor house spans over 10,000 square feet of living space, most of which is decorated in fresh and decidedly understated neutral tones. There are light wood floors throughout, wet glass walls, a state-of-the-art kitchen with a huge marble island and custom furniture, a formal dining room and a sunny living room overlooking the gardens and one of the largest wets residential bars on which this author has ever applauded.

A sculptural staircase leads to the upper floor, where there is a secondary living area, a long gallery-like corridor and six family / guest bedrooms, all with private bathrooms, of course. The main retreat offers a semicircular bedroom with double marble-wrapped bathrooms and double closets / dressing rooms.

The resort-style courtyard is ready for entertainment with a full outdoor kitchen and hut, an extra long fireplace, and a negative-edge pool with indoor spa. Emerald green lawns shaded by other olive trees stretch around the nearly one-acre flat lot, which is mostly bordered by golf courses. On the southwest corner of the property is a guesthouse that opens onto formal gardens and a stunning reflecting pool with a sunken firebox for maximum visual drama.

Jon Grauman is Mauricio Umansky to The agency held the listing; James Harris and David Parnes, also to The agency, Dime replied.
