May kindness be rewarded
I was fortunate enough to receive my first Pfizer vaccine on March 30 at the RBC Convention Center.
Unfortunately, as I registered online in mid-May for my second injection, it became apparent that my Manitoba health card was nowhere to be found. I realized the last time I had it was when I showed it that day.
I called to get a replacement card; However, to my surprise, in today’s mail was another envelope from Manitoba Health containing my lost card and a Home Depot gift card with a balance of $ 5.50. I don’t think the gift card was with my health card when I lost it, but I am very grateful to the person who found my card and sent it back to Manitoba Health to be found for me.
May your kindness be returned to you.

To go beyond
During an otherwise enjoyable family visit to the Winnipeg Zoo in early May, one of the children lost their favorite cloth mask. He hadn’t been transformed into Lost and Found by the time we were leaving.
A helpful zoo volunteer mentioned that she had seen the distinctive mask earlier and remembered the location. I knew I would get lost trying to find him. She very kindly offered to try and find it (not nearby) and hopefully give it back to us while we waited.
Although I said we didn’t expect her to make all of these efforts, she persisted. You can imagine how thrilled we were when she came back with her and a young boy was relieved and very happy.
We would like to thank Patty very much. We were very touched by his concern, his benevolence and his generosity of time and personal effort. Our experience of his kindness will be a lasting example for each of us to follow and we will never forget it.
