Pepper Money is now offering its customers free advice on energy efficiency.

This consists of carrying out an energy efficiency study on the client’s property, providing an energy performance certificate (EPC) and detailing an action plan to make their property more energy efficient.

Pepper says that if the action plan requires funding for improvements, the lender can offer a second mortgage to cover that, along with another EPC certificate once the work is complete.

Pepper’s Managing Director, Laurence Morey, said, “We understand that we have an active role to play in changing the way our industry impacts our environment.

“We know this won’t happen overnight, but will be the result of many ongoing positive changes and will help our clients better understand the impact they and their properties have on the environment.”

And Legal & General Mortgage Club’s Lender Relations Manager, Danny Belton, comments, “By offering free EPCs and an option for clients to borrow to make improvements, this initiative is directly driving positive results.

“In the long term, this not only means more customers will have an accurate picture of the current state of their property, but they will also have access to the knowledge and resources they need to make their home more efficient on the market. environmental plan.
