through 3 quarters
Their last face-to-face of November 2018 was a close one, and so far it looks like this is how the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Michigan State Spartans will end this one. Nebraska and MSU are deadlocked at 13-13 after three quarters, promising an exciting conclusion. Quarterback Adrian Martinez has led the way so far for the Cornhuskers, as he racked up 160 passing yards in addition to rushing for a touchdown and 69 yards.
Nebraska struggled to protect the pocket and awarded five sacks. They are going to have to better protect the QB if they want to have a chance of winning this contest.

What there is to know
A Big Ten battle is underway between the Michigan State Spartans and the Nebraska Cornhuskers at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday at Spartan Stadium. If the 9-6 final from the last time they met is any indication, that contest will be decided by the defense.
MSU’s game against the Miami Hurricanes (FL) last week was close at halftime, but the Spartans upped the pressure in the second half with 28 points. MSU was the clear winner by a 38-17 margin over Miami (FL). Among those leading the charge for MSU was RB Kenneth Walker III, who picked up 172 rushing yards on 27 carries in addition to snatching a TD receipt.
MSU’s defense was also present, as it collected two interceptions and two fumbles. These interceptions were spread over their entire defensive unit.
Meanwhile, Nebraska fell to the Oklahoma Sooners last week, losing 23-16. The losing team was bolstered by QB Adrian Martinez, who had a touchdown and 282 yards on 25 attempts in addition to rushing for a touchdown and 34 yards.
The Spartans are the favorites in this one, with an expected margin of victory of 3.5 points. If their 2-0 ATS record is anything to go by, the outlook looks good for the bets placed on them.
MSU’s victory took them to 3-0 while Nebraska’s loss brought them down to 2-2. A few defensive numbers to keep in mind before kick-off: MSU stumbles into the game with the 193rd most passing yards allowed per game in the country, having given up 269.3 on average. Nebraska has had its own struggles as it is the 138th worst in the country for rushing yards allowed per game, averaging 156.3. It’s possible that one of those Achilles heels will end up tripping the losing team.
