Gaylord of Wallingford hosts a preview party for a featured spot from the PBS TV series

WALLINGFORD – Gaylord Specialty Healthcare will be featured on an upcoming TV show and is hosting an exclusive preview night for the event, officials said in a statement.

“The Hospital of the Future” is an episode of the public service broadcasting’s “Journeys and Traditions with Burt Wolf” series and will feature Gaylord’s rehab-focused healthcare system, the statement said. The episode will celebrate “Gaylord’s 120-year history and unique, patient-centered care and clinical innovation through the direct perspective of its patients and staff,” the statement said.

Gaylord will host their exclusive preview party from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on October 14, with proceeds going to the Gaylord Fund.

“This feature is an opportunity for the world to see the details that make Gaylord different,” Gaylord CEO Sonja LaBarbera said in the statement. “To our patients, Gaylord means hope and possibility. Our commitment to holistic care defines the experience of our patients and each member of our team brings a unique passion and expertise to recovery. This special allows viewers to witness our process directly.

The show will air this fall on PBS, the statement said, and will be translated for international audiences.

The preview night will include live music, hors d’oeuvres, an open bar and networking opportunities, the statement said.
