Exactly one year ago today, the largest assault on the United States Capitol since the War of 1812 took place on the Capitol steps. Today, more than 200 candle light vigils, including in Austin, will be held across the country to commemorate the anniversary of the U.S. Capitol uprising last year.

We’ll show you a list of the ceremonies that take place in Austin and Texas below in our five-minute guide. But first, here’s everything you need to know to start the day right.

The next cold front will arrive on Thursday with mild conditions ahead of the border and much cooler air behind the front with blustery northerly winds. Keep cool on Friday before warming up for Saturday. Rain showers and isolated thunderstorms are possible from Friday evening to Saturday, mainly over eastern areas. Another cold front arrives on Sunday, bringing windier northerly winds and cooler air early next week.
