The best remembrance
The Badshahi Mosque in Lahore, Pakistan. Built in 1673 by the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. Detail from the entrance into the main part of the mosque. The Arabic calligraphy above the archway is a Qur'anic verse which the Sufis, the Islamic mystics, particularly take to heart: that the best form of remembrance is to remember God at all times and follow the way of Prophet Muhammad. (I have increased contrast and saturation in this photo.)
