Ramadan Mubarak
Lately I was really busy with my family. I know i missed lots of great images from my flickr friends, but hopefully i wont miss anymore again.. Just wanted to wish all my friends happy ramadan mubarak :)
Masjid-al Sultan Mohamed Thakurufaanu-al-A'z'am, this is the largest mosque in the Maldives and a spectacular architectural landmark. The mosque’s magnificent golden dome and slender minaret dominates Malé’s skyline, whilst the interior walls are adorned with beautiful woodcarvings and Arabic calligraphy.
Also located here is the Islamic Center, which serves as a conference hall for official meetings and ceremonies. Incredibly, over five thousand worshipers can be accommodated here at one time. There are around 20 different mosques located in Male, but Friday Mosque and Grand Friday Mosque should certainly be at the top of your list to visit during your holiday in Maldives.
