Eid al-fitr is the celebration at the end of the month of fasting for the 1.5 billion Muslims around the globe.
AkiYurt was one of the few camps which received extensive support from multiple aid agencies including the Austrian 'Hilfswerk', Medecins Sans Frontiers and the UN. Housing 4,000 (of the 110,000) refugees fleeing the war in Chechnya, the camp was 'closed' early raising concerns even from the US State department.
God Almighty says in the Quran, "Do you encourage people to do good, when you yourself forget to practise it, even though you read the scriptures of God which encourage it (i.e. Old/New Testament, Quran etc). Don't you understand your double standards?" - may God Almighty help us be fair, just and kind to one another, amen!
